08.21.01: I haven't written in two weeks; My freind Estelle was
down from NY and we spent a lot of time drinking and having a good time.
DBH came down to visit. She only stayed an afternoon, she was vacationing
in Naples and had no time for the Tom. Apparently the beach is more
interesting than I.
This summer I have encountered my third rejection. I'm never going to
date again I've decided. May was Michele (many of you were there for
that). I'm over her now, but the sting of rejection and the crush of an
ego takes longer to subside. July was Brooke (sunshine) and she lied to
me for weeks, up to and including the reason she left. Most recently was
Erin. She only led me on for a week, so it is not as if I had actually
fallen for her. However, it pours vinegar on old wounds that are still
not healed. The point: women leave NY Jay and I are two quite available,
reasonably attractive, intelligent guys who are just looking for a girl
who respects these qualities. Neither of us can fine one, thus it can be
easily shown that there are certain qualities we lack which women want
(ie: abusive nature, ability to play sports, tolerance for Limp Bizkit) or
qualities which we have which women find intolerant (ie: creativity,
sense
of humor, a drive for social change). What women say they want is in fact
not what they want (so says Freud, revised by Tom). This is proven more
than anything else by the fact that Brooke dumped me because (of all
things) I stood up for her as any honorable gentleman would have.
Responses? Death threats? Send 'em in!
08.06.01: Yes, Sunshine has left me. This is the rainy season
in Florida, and I needed my Sunshine. And, further, the reason she left me was because I was sticking up for her. I guess there is no room for virtuous activity in the world any longer. Thus far she has not even tried to explain exactly why what I did irritated her. Suffice to say I doubt she even knows herself. Just a convinient excuse to show Tom the door, as always.
School starts up soon. Stellie is coming to town Wednesday, and should be staying for a week and a half. I haven't seen her in a year, and it will be good to catch up. Alas, my next few weeks will be hellishly busy between preparations for the school year and such. I have all but run out of money, which is bad. I have a few hundred coming soon (I hope) when I finish the update to abramsconsulting.com.
All is better in Tomland. I have been up and down as always recently. Hopefully bginning the year again will satiate my mind.
08.05.01:No time to do an elaborate update, will write
more beginning of this week. In short, Sunshine left me. I have been
unhappy, but that is growing into a cold apathy towards her now.
Crissy, Jay, and Jessica were very supportive; it helped out a
lot.
