07.11.03 Missed out on seeing the Circle Jerks here last night. A friend told me he was going, and bailed at the last minute. Alas.
Spent the majority of yesterday cleaning my apartment. I was sick some two weeks ago and had let my place go to a complete state of disrepair. I even mopped the floors, to a varying degree of success. So, my place is a bit more hospitable until the next time I have several people over drinkin'.
I've been spending too much time reading (both pleasure and academic) and watching daytime TV. One of may favorites is the hour block from 2-3 PM where they run "Spin City" and "Suddenly Susan" back-to-back. I plan my entire day around that and Simpsons' episodes in the evening. Happy hour fits in there nicely.
Currently I'm eating individually wrapped chocolate bars and drinking coffee stolen from the Women's Studies department downstairs. Time for a cigarette!
To quote the great Red Green, "Keep your stick on the ice!"
07.07.03: My love life is a series of horrors which tend to resemble one of the more esoteric Lynch films. My drinking life is going better than usual, though. I was recently sick for a better part of the week. Nyquil and Twinings Earl Gray make a body strong. This slight respite from my usual regiment of beer and beef jerky.
Got my fall assignment. I'm doing a course I have never done, so prep is the call of the day. Waiting for my desk copies so I can begin writing my lecture notes. I've put my research on hold for the time being, and am taking a break.
Met a girl. She hasn't called me in nearly a week. That would mean she lasted several days longer than the requisite two weeks to be scared off by me. So, back to square one.
Girls are bad.
Oh, happy 4th, dedicated reader (purposefully singular). Welcome to hell, with your excellent host George Dubya Bush.
