05.28.03: Been around. Finished classes (note: still haven't turned in everything for said classes yet, but I've stopped my required attendance). Been working in/around my dissertation topic for a few weeks so far. Some reading done, much more to do.

Got back in touch with NY Jay. He's recently gone through a breakup with this girl he'd been dating. 'Tis the season? Jay: her writing on her website was wholly unimpressive, if it is any consolation.

Presented a paper at a recent Social Theory Conference. I got mixed reaction, but met some very cool people there. I came away, as usual, with several cool new academic projects, of which I may work on one, and none of which I shall ever finish. Story of my sordid academic life, eh?

I've been feeling "back in the game" of dating recently. I've had some interests . . . none of whom I can get to react in a positive way. I'm not good at reading subtext, so I can only flirt and hope that I get a reaction. I'm a poor catch, anyway.

I've been meaning to post a response to your war in Iraq. I refuse to use the first person for any action this Bush regime makes, since they refuse to listen to anyone anyway. I find some laudable contradictions in everything done by this trained monkey you call a president. Sure, many of them have been picked up by Tom Tomorrow, but some have not.

I'm not sure if I should lock myself in my apartment and not answer my phone, or if I should spend a great deal of time at my local tavern carousing and drinking. One or the other. I'm either depressed or fed up . . . the symptoms look the same.

• 10 May: Saw X-Men 2 with Hud. Well done.
• 6-15 May: Drinking, reading various commentators on Kant's Critique of Pure Reason
• 15 May: Ministry at Masquerade, Tampa FL.
• 16 May: River Chicken/Area 51 at Brass Mug, Tampa FL. Augi's Birthday celebration.
• 17 May: Prepared Paper for presentation
• 19 May, 10:45 AM presented "Heidegger, Authenticity and the Politics of Negation"
• 18-22 May: at Beach and Conference
• 23-24 May: Stopped drinking, started sleeping.
• 24-25 May: Hung out with Greaser and Moose, watched movies and got progressively more out of our collective gourds.
• 26 May: Drunk, again. Moose, Greaser, Ingrid, Melissa C. and Ingrid's very cute friend.
• 25-28 May: started first three books on summer reading list. Finished one.
• Tonight: BBQ at Greaser's place.
• This weekend: Work at the Mug on Saturday. Other than that, make me and offer.
